Eddie Hays, drummer for No Irish Need Apply, comes from a musical family, his grandfather played traditional Irish music on concertina and his 3 brothers all played music- guitar, keyboard and bass, with all of them singing.

His brother, Tommy, went on to become a professional bassist with the Philadelphia glam-rock band, Pretty Poison. Eddie began drums at 8 years old, inspired by The Beatles, Rolling Stones and The Monkees on the radio. His passion for music covers many styles- pop, R&B, Reggae, Funk and Irish and has kept him busy as a musician through the years with the original music band, The Circles from the late 70’s until the late 80’s, Philly Heat, a 9-piece horn band from ’94 to 2010.

Not limited to drums and percussion, Eddie also plays bagpipes and pennywhistle. He has been performing with The Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums since 1996.
